Tricks for the 7 times table

Little tricks that make the facts stick.

Only a few are new

If you know 2×, 3×, 4×, 5× and 6×, the new facts are just 7 × 7 = 49, 7 × 8 = 56, 7 × 9 = 63 and 7 × 11, 7 × 12.

56 = 7 × 8 – the numbers go 5, 6, 7, 8 in order.

Split it: 5 + 2

7 × 6 = 5 × 6 (30) + 2 × 6 (12) = 42.
