Game Modes

Hit the Button includes several game modes, each focused on a key mental maths skill from the primary curriculum.

Times Tables

Practise any table from 2× to 12×, or mix them all together. Ideal for Years 2–6 and for preparing for the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check.

Number Bonds

Find the missing number that makes 10, 20 or 100. A core KS1 skill that underpins addition and subtraction.

Division

Doubling and Halving

Double or halve numbers quickly – a key strategy for mental calculation and for working out harder multiplication facts.

Square Numbers

Recall square numbers such as 7² = 49. Useful for upper KS2.

Fractions

Practise fraction facts against the clock. Suitable for Years 3–6.

Difficulty levels

Every mode has Easy, Medium and Hard levels, so children can start where they feel confident and work up. Each round lasts 60 seconds.
